FAILED SONG

Mary Lyons remembered a story from EdinburghSCOTSMAN
(recalling a clipping from 100 years ago:)

A really good police chorus
inexplicably failed to pacify
a starving crowd of Dubliners by singing,
“Come back to Erin, Mavouning, Mavourning!”
